What We Know About Kat’s New Album (So Far)!

Katharine McPhee's new album is coming early 2014!

Since the summer of 2011, Katharine McPhee has written and recorded over 60 songs for her currently untitled forthcoming album. The record, which is slated for an “early 2014″ release, will act as her debut under Columbia Records. Throughout the process, Katharine has been working closely with famed A&R Teresa LaBarbera Whites, who has crafted hit records for the likes of Britney Spears, Beyonce, P!nk, and many more.

Despite all of her hard work, Katharine herself has been decidely tight-lipped about details surrounding her new material up to this point. “I’m keeping all these songs that I’ve been working on for the past year or two close to the vest,” she recently admitted. However, Rolling Stone has reported that, stylistically-speaking, the album will be “Pop” (Top 40) with a touch of EDM (Electronic Dance Music). “I want something that’s fun, that feels sophisticated but youthful,” Kat says of her new music.

As you can expect, the list of people contributing to this record has become quite exhaustive over this extensive writing/recording process. Still, one thing is for sure — she is working with some of the biggest names in the industry today, including Sia, Ryan Tedder, Linda Perry, Fernando Garibay, The Dream, Toby Gad, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and the list goes on and on!

As we continue anticipating this album, we have gathered a huge list of songwriters and producers that are confirmed to be working on material for the album. We also have some potential song titles! Since a typical album only has about 12 or so tracks, we suspect that these lists will be narrowed down significantly when the album is completed. Regardless, take a look and get excited for what is shaping up to be an amazing album in the meantime!

Will all the songs she recorded be on the album, or will they just be picked a selection? A Katharine album with 60 songs would be a dream come true!

A 60-song Katharine album would definitely be sensational, but realistically speaking, I’m sure a lot of cuts will be made! When all is said and done, the album will probably have the standard 12-14 tracks.
