The West End premiere of the hit Broadway musical Waitress starring Katharine McPhee is just around the corner! With previews beginning on 8 February at the Adelphi Theatre in London, the cast kicked off rehearsals earlier this week.
Sara Bareilles, who composed the show’s music and lyrics, went live on Instagram with the London cast during their day of rehearsals for a Q&A. Check out a video below. Towards the end, you get a taste of the cast singing “Opening Up,” one of the opening numbers.

Based on the 2007 motion picture by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress tells the story of Jenna (played by Katharine McPhee), an expert pie maker in a small town, who dreams of a way out of her loveless marriage. Waitress has a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Diane Paulus.
