Katharine McPhee recently chatted with Entertainment Weekly about her new album Hysteria, which is due out later this summer.

In this exclusive interview, Katharine discussed the long process of preparing and recording the new record, which will be her first solo LP since 2010. Taking her time paid off. Kat believes that Hysteria is “the most artist-centric” album she’s ever released. “I felt inspired for the first time,” she says of the writing and recording process.

Kat also revealed that received a little help from two of the biggest hit makers in the music industry. In particular, she recalled co-writing songs with Sia and Ryan Tedder.
