Katharine McPhee is heading back to American Idol for this season’s grand finale on Sunday, May 17!

ABC announced today that judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie will close the show with a performance of “We Are The World” — with some help from former American Idol contestants including Katharine McPhee, Alejandro Aranda aka Scarypoolparty, Gabby Barrett, Jordin Sparks, Kellie Pickler, Laine Hardy, Lauren Alaina, Phillip Phillips, Ruben Studdard and Scotty McCreery.

Everyone will be performing remotely from their own homes, so it’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together. The American Idol finale airs live this Sunday, May 17 at 8pm ET on ABC.
