While Americans and many people around the world are housebound to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Katharine McPhee and David Foster have been doing live mini-concerts on Instagram to help provide some entertainment during this difficult time.
Since kicking off a few days ago, the couple has covered many great songs ranging from pop classics to Broadway showtimes to country jams. We gathered some of our favorite moments from the first week of their live series. Check out the highlights below.

And then a hero comes along…
Kat and David dedicated a beautiful rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Hero” to all of the medical personnel and first responders who are the true heroes during this pandemic. Can’t think of a better tribute to these amazing men and women!
Betty Boop Musical Number
David has been working on a Betty Boop musical for 8 years with songwriter Susan Birkenhead. Kat recently performed a song from the musical for David’s most recent PBS special. The couple premiered another new song from it, called “A Little Versatility,” and it’s fantastic!
“Smile, though your heart is breaking…”
“Smile” is another song perfect for the times we are living through right now, and Kat and Davids’ rendition is gorgeous.
Adele – Someone Like You
The couple has been taking requests for these live shows, and the Adele classic “Someone Like You” was definitely a top demand. Kat’s version is sure to give you chills!
Tina Turner – “Proud Mary”
So. much. ENERGY! If this fun cover doesn’t lift your spirits, then nothing will! Check out Kat bust a move and a deliver a killer vocal performing “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner.
Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston – “I Will Always Love You”
David masterfully produced Whitney Houston’s classic cover of the Dolly Parton song, “I Will Always Love You.” Naturally, he and Kat busted out a glorious rendition, with Kat reverting to a funny country take on the second verse.
What A Wonderful World
We are ending the highlights from Week 1 with this lovely rendition of the classic, “What A Wonderful World.” This is a good reminder that, although we are in trying times, we will get through this together and continue to cherish all that our world has to offer.
