After months of anticipation, the concert presentation of Bombshell delighted a sold-out crowd at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway last night.
As a benefit event for The Actors Fund, the one-night-only engagement raised over $800,000 for the organization which serves more than 21,000 performing arts and entertainment professionals across the country every year.
The concert also acted as the biggest Smash reunion to date. The unforgettable songs of the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical, written and composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, were brought to life by many of the show’s stars for the first time on the Great White Way.
As the dueling Marilyns of Smash, Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty were naturally the two leading ladies of the night. Will Chase, Christian Borle, Jeremy Jordan, Ann Harada, Brian d’Arcy James, and Wesley Taylor were also featured performers. Debra Messing provided narration between songs.
Josh Bergasse choreographed the dance numbers and also directed alongside Wittman. Neil Meron and Craig Zadan produced.
Videos from the concert have begun surfacing online. Check out Katharine’s stunning performances below!
